European Union (EU) Pavilion The European Union successfully executed its “Perfect Match” campaign, aiming to bridge the gap between Japanese and European culinary cultures. True to the campaign’s slogan, “It is the perfect match! When EU ingredients meet Japanese ingredients,” the EU pavilion offered a delightful experience that showcased the harmonious blend of abundant, naturally grown European ingredients and Japanese culinary traditions. The highlight of the event was a cooking demonstration by Chef Masahiro Ueki of AZUR et MASA UEKI in Nishi-Azabu, who presented a fusion of Japanese and EU ingredients in a French cuisine style. Additionally, a permanent booth, complete with a bar area, served European wines, cheeses, and hams, drawing large crowds.
